Jeonju Hanji Culture Festival

Hanji is a traditional Korean paper. It has so many uses! ๐Ÿ˜€ The best place to see the wide range of uses for Hanji is at the Jeonju Hanji Culture Festival. Here in the museum, you’ll see a lot of creative crafts made of Hanji paper. You’ll see cupboards covered with Hanji paper, tables, dolls, paintings, lamps with intricate cutouts on the glass and lid, interesting shapes, and work of art. ๋Œ€๋ฐ•! ;))

ImageCan you believe these are actually made of paper?? I wonder how they do it..? hmmmm…

I’ve always loved Little Prince.:) Seeing some acts from the book in these creative pieces was actually surreal, like I was seeing what’s actually inside the imaginative book. ๐Ÿ˜›

It was quite a long and tiring day of walking around Hanok Village. But, it was really worth going here since festivals do happen only once in a year. You guys should visit this place if you want to be mesmerized by the creative artworks of Korean people.:)

Tambayan (Koren version)

Just because we were so bored and we don’t have anything to do. We went to the road where we always pass by when we do our grocery at lotte mart. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a peaceful place where one can rest and relax their minds. It’s a comforting place to be.:) When I was there, I was thinking of the past, what could have been this place like 300 years ago.:P Korea has really preserved their culture and traditions because of this heritage spots.

In a small city like Jeonju, it unfolds the wonders of nature, the historical past and the rich culture of Korea. There are still so many beautiful places to see. Two awesome months has already passed. A lot of beautiful memories were made. I met a lot of friends, each with unique personality.

There’s nothing more I can say but to be thankful for everything. ๐Ÿ˜€

13th Jeonju International Festival (JIFF) :D

I, Winnie and Kus rode the bus to gaeksa to meet Injun ์˜ค๋น , Jim and Jina ์–ธ๋‹ˆ ๐Ÿ˜€ It was funny because Kus didn’t know what bus number to take. He told us that he goes there with a friend so he didn’t know. But, we knew better than him because Winnie and i frequently visit gaeksa. ๐Ÿ˜› His voice was also really good when he speaks. It was husky but very pleasant to the ear. His voice was like Heechul of SJ (if i’am not mistaken) ๐Ÿ˜›

When we arrived there, we met Hyun Ji. She was a volunteer of JIFF. She’s also from our department.

Jina and her WiFi pose

We originally planned to watch a JIFF movie but there was no good movie to watch so we decided to watch avengers instead! ๐Ÿ˜€ =))) So, while waiting for the showing time, we went to eat at a korean restaurant.ImageImage

We ate dukbokkiย ๋–ก๋ณถ์ด (korean spicy rice cakes),ย ์ˆœ๋Œ€ sun dea andย ํŠ€๊น€ย Twi-kim.:P

Kus was so funny and he really enjoyed our jokes.:P we experienced “Extreme happiness” if I were to describe it. We were laughing all day non-stop.:P Then we went to the Cafe. Almost all the employees working there are from the Hotel Department. It was really cool. I wish I could work there for part time too.:P Hihi..:) ^^

Image

The cafe was really nice and very comfortable. The interior design was good for leisure time. You are free to do whatever you like.

ImageEverywhere you look, it has JIFF on it, from pens, tissue napkin, walls to window glass. A really best way to promote JIFF is to let people know about it.

This was the pen I wanted (because it’s green) which Jim got for me. haha! ๐Ÿ˜›

์„œํ˜„ and JimImageย It was a fun and cool movie! Hulk was the best among them. He can fight with the big creatures. ๐Ÿ˜› ย While we were watching the movie, Jim fell asleep. haha!! because he was too tired from work. It was an expensive way to sleep though. haha :p just kidding. ๐Ÿ˜› then, we went back to have coffee again at the cafe. We receivedย a great service from Hee Young ์˜ค๋น ย ย He’s also from our department. He gave us free chocolates! yey! ๐Ÿ˜€ I want to thank them so much for this day! ๐Ÿ˜€ I really had so much fun with them! It was a great day full of laughter and happiness.:D โค

makgeolli and chips under the cherry blossom tree :)

Today’s a good weather to bond with your friends and classmates. The winter just ended ushering spring. It’s the season wherein cherry blossoms bloom so beautifully. You can feel the warmth of the sun and the cool breeze of the wind. It’s so nice to take a break on a regular class day. Who would think that we’re going to spend the morning drinking, eating and chatting?

Today, we didn’t have class under Professor Shim. But, we had our picnic together just outside the Peace Hall. It was fun! ๐Ÿ˜€ ์žฌ๋ฏธ์žˆ์—ˆ์–ด!! just drinking, eating and chatting together. Though most of the time they speak in Korean, it’s fine with me. Because, that’s how they can easily understand each other. And I love and enjoy listening to them when they speak. I want to know how they pronounce Korean words.:P It’s a good way to learn to speak Korean.:D :)) I really really want to learn their language so much. ๐Ÿ˜€ Everyday, I’m learning new words from my friends and also I’m learning about more of their culture.:)ImageImage
