First Trip this year!

We celebrated Sam’s 1st birthday in McDonald’s. This cute little girl is my friend’s niece. She’s really cute and so pretty, right?

Isn't she lovely? :)

Right after that, we just decided to go on a road trip to Tagaytay!

We went straight home after the celebration. I brought some clothes and jacket with me. Then, while we were on our way to Tagaytay, they’ve decided to stay there until tomorrow! Lots of surprises, huh?

We arrived in Tagaytay in the evening. It was reaaaaallyyy cold. January hasn’t been this cold! We were trying our best (wearing our shorts and skirts) to walk against the strong winds.ย The coldest temperature recorded in Manila was I think about 15-16 degree Celcius! I felt like I was in Korea again, that Autumn feels.

We had our dinner at RSM Lutong Bahay, a restaurant with an overlooking view of Taal Volcano. ย Everywhere you look, the restaurant is nicely decorated. ย The combination of the plants and the wood furniture of the lounge, sofa, dining table and chairs gives a natural ambiance. It is very s pacious and can accommodate around 150 people. It has second floor but we weren’t able to explore it.

RSM serves delicious and affordable Filipino cuisine. One order ranges about 200-400 pesos and can serve for 3-4 people. ย We ordered just enough for the six of us and our bill reached at least 1k. ย Plus, they gave us free Bulalo soup! Since we ate here for dinner, we can’t really see the taal volcano. So, if you want to appreciate the view, I suggest that you visit during lunch time.

We ate inside the bahay kubo.

After having our tummies full, we proceeded to our next stop -Ate Julie’s house. We stayed there for the night, had some drinks and continued with our non-stop stories.

Get to bond with our new friends while enjoying our drinks and the cold weather!

Captured in a box!

You might not know, I was busy with school and other activities, so I wasn’t really able to update my blog.

So, here’s the story. I was looking for a place to stay with less people and a Wi-Fi, and there I saw a cute little store in Barrington place.

Image

The place is called The Cake Box Dessert Cafe. The store is located at the 2F of Barrington Place along Congressional Avenue. It is pretty in pink, and displays good-looking cakes you wouldn’t want to eat because they’re too pretty to eat. Those pretty displays caught my attention that’s why I decided to stay there. Definitely a must try because the slice of cake we ordered was delicious. I prefer the cake than the cupcakes because they’re kind of too sweet for me. We stayed there for about 4 hours, as I remember. I was doing my thesis and at the same time catching upย with my high school friends. The connection (Wi-Fi) was pretty fast, just got some problem connecting at first. They turned off the Wi-Fi around 10pm, probably because we were the only ones left there and it was near closing time.

friends

These photos were taken during my first and 2nd visits in the cafe. Because there are few people who visit there, and usually they have takeaways, I feel more comfortable to do my own stuff. I just want to have a different ambiance so I decided not to do my homework at home.

Also, what I really like here is the interior design. The store may be small but feels spacious enough. The seats are comfy but the table is too high for the couch, or because I’m petite. Haha! Anyway, my 2nd visit was good. We ordered pasta and a slice of cake, and used their Wi-Fi as well. ย We had a great time staying in the cafe. Will surely visit here again with my friends.

Rainy Day **

On a rainy day, KG and I decided to eat ice cream at the famous Icecreamist store. Sadly, when we arrived, there’s a long cue waiting already so we just ate at the store next to it, the “Fancy Crepes”.

It’s a small store where it can accommodate only up to 8 people (sitting comfortably). The ambiance is quite cozy and refreshing. We ordered mango cheesecake and nuts over nutella. Although the food presentation isn’t as nice as i expected, it’s cute enough to pass with some scribbles on it (smiley and our names). We were the only ones there so we had a long time to chat and read magazines, especially the book my friend Aimee gave me, and took many pictures. HAHA ๐Ÿ™‚

Fancy Crepes is located near Mini Stop Maginhawa Street Quezon City. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a nice place if you want to just chill and chat with a friend.:)

๋‚ฉ์ž‘ํ•œ์Šฌ๋ฆฌํผ <3

This is my favorite coffee shop here in Korea ๐Ÿ™‚ The ambiance in this shop is really different compared to the other coffee shops. I can stay here for hours if I want to. If this shop is only nearer that I won’t have to take a bus to go here, I would probably be here often. ย :))

It’s quite difficult to see this shop in Gaeksa (downtown) because it’s not located in the main streets. From Zara, you have to go straight that will lead you to Holly’s coffee, rice story, church and then at the edge of the street, this coffee shop is located.

this is the name of the shop “nap-jak-han-slipper”

Actually, the first time I came here was during the Jeonju International Film Festival. I came with my friends from Hotel Dept. Because, a lot of our classmates in Hotel management volunteered in this shop. So during that time, a lot of visitors of JIFF were here because it has partnership with JIFF ๐Ÿ˜‰ After a month, we visited this place again and then I started to love this place. โค Here’s a link to my previous blog about JIFFย ๐Ÿ™‚

Image

ImageWhenever we order any coffee, our friend gives us “service” . That’s how koreans call it when they give out freebies. ๐Ÿ™‚ So, he always gives us free brownies, macaroons, bread, chocolates and cupcake. ๐Ÿ™‚

Image

This one is my favorite. He made it for us ๐Ÿ™‚ He’s really nice and generous. ๐Ÿ™‚ย Image

What I also love here is I can use their iPad. ;p The customers can actually read books and they have two iPads with WiFi of course. It’s very comfortable to stay here. Just like Starbucks — as “third place”. ย I think I found my fourth place in here. haha! ๐Ÿ˜› Though I don’t usually drink coffee, (i don’t drink soda as well), I love to drink water at all times, I just want to spend time here that’s why I go here. And I also love their coffee and how it was prepared. I actually would love to work here if I’m allowed to have part-time job.

So this is why I recommend this place to my friends. I bring them here with me and they would also love the ambiance and the service in this place. Our friend is also happy because we frequently visit his place.

McDo & Baskin Robbins

After eating at McDonald’s, we went to a really cool place–Baskin Robins ย with our Korean friend. Before she has to go back to her hometown in Gunsan for summer vacation, she gave us presents, a traditional lucky/fortune bag and a handmade mirror made by her mom. How sweet and thoughtful!ย I’m really thankful to have a friend like her. She’s someone I can share anything with. ย We sometimes talk about love life and we can talk about anything especially when we’re both bored.

Btw, the rightmost side in the first picture on the upper left of the collage is my favorite flavor of ice cream. It’s called “shooting star” :)) Baskin Robbins is now on my favorite list!!

๋งฅ๋„๋‚ ๋“œ i’m lovin’ it McDonald’s at Jeonju City

After watching Secret Garden episodes during the Hotel Department assembly and being lectured about family planning, Injun ์˜ค๋น  brought us to McDonald’s!! ๐Ÿ˜€ YEY! ๐Ÿ˜€

This was our first time to eat at McDo in Korea so we were extremely happy and excited about it!!! As I noticed, their burgers were pretty much the same but somehow, it tasted more fresh. They use a lot of greens in here. They also have Bulgogi burger which you can only find here in Korea.

After a delicious meal, we walked our way to Lotte Department Store since it was only a few minutes away. The Lotte Dept Store is a big building with 7 floors. In every floor, you can find different sections (women, children, men, sports) and the top floor is the cinema.

To end this day, we had a nice chat at cafe bene before we part ways and go back to our dormitory.:D ย Thank you, Injun ์˜ค๋น !! ๐Ÿ˜€

Great news are coming! :D

Today, I received a message from my friend, Injun ์˜ค๋น ! :)) He got accepted to work in Grand Hyatt Singapore! wow! ๐Ÿ˜€ย ์ถ•ํ•˜ํ•ด์š” ์˜ค๋น !ย ^^ He was so happy that he treated us to cafe bene just in front of our dormitory. We went to eat gelato ice cream.:D mmm… ๋„ˆ๋ฌด ๋ง›์žˆ๋‹ค! ^^

We had a very nice chat. I saw in his face how happy he was. It was the same feeling I got when I received the news that I got accepted to study in Jeonju University. I couldn’t believe it at first. I was having mixed emotions, I was happy, sad, excited and all. But I knew it was a blessing from God. ๐Ÿ˜€ =))

Then, YoungSang ์•„๋น , Yong-ho ์˜ค๋น , ์–ด์ง„ ์–ธ๋‹ˆ came and joined our conversation.:P It was really a great news to celebrate! ๐Ÿ˜€ Then Professor Shim also came to cafe bene with a friend. He saw that we were not studying marketing. Haha! oops! ๐Ÿ˜› After eating the gelato, we went back to the lobby and continued our chat because it was starting to rain already. Then, we went back to our room.:)

I also want to congratulate my groupmate and dearest friend Choongman. She also got accepted! ๐Ÿ˜€ =)))

I’am very happy for both of my friends will now work in Grand Hyatt Singapore. I’am a very proud friend.:D I will surely miss them but I know this kind of opportunity is best for them to grow into better hoteliers and better individuals. Everything is for the better.:D =)) ^^

13th Jeonju International Festival (JIFF) :D

I, Winnie and Kus rode the bus to gaeksa to meet Injun ์˜ค๋น , Jim and Jina ์–ธ๋‹ˆ ๐Ÿ˜€ It was funny because Kus didn’t know what bus number to take. He told us that he goes there with a friend so he didn’t know. But, we knew better than him because Winnie and i frequently visit gaeksa. ๐Ÿ˜› His voice was also really good when he speaks. It was husky but very pleasant to the ear. His voice was like Heechul of SJ (if i’am not mistaken) ๐Ÿ˜›

When we arrived there, we met Hyun Ji. She was a volunteer of JIFF. She’s also from our department.

While they’re busy searching for a good movie to watch, I’m also busy taking pictures ๐Ÿ˜›Image

We originally planned to watch a JIFF movie but there was no good movie to watch so we decided to watch avengers instead! ๐Ÿ˜€ =))) So, while waiting for the showing time, we went to eat at a korean restaurant.ImageImage

We ate dukbokkiย ๋–ก๋ณถ์ด (korean spicy rice cakes),ย ์ˆœ๋Œ€ sun dea andย ํŠ€๊น€ย Twi-kim.:P

Kus was so funny and he really enjoyed our jokes.:P we experienced “Extreme happiness” if I were to describe it. We were laughing all day non-stop.:P Then we went to the Cafe. Almost all the employees working there are from the Hotel Department. It was really cool. I wish I could work there for part time too.:P Hihi..:) ^^

Image

The cafe was really nice and very comfortable. The interior design was good for leisure time. You are free to do whatever you like.

ImageEverywhere you look, it has JIFF on it, from pens, tissue napkin, walls to window glass. A really best way to promote JIFF is to let people know about it.

Image

This was the pen I wanted (because it’s green) which Jim got for me. haha! ๐Ÿ˜›

์„œํ˜„ and JimImageย It was a fun and cool movie! Hulk was the best among them. He can fight with the big creatures. ๐Ÿ˜› ย While we were watching the movie, Jim fell asleep. haha!! because he was too tired from work. It was an expensive way to sleep though. haha :p just kidding. ๐Ÿ˜› then, we went back to have coffee again at the cafe. We receivedย a great service from Hee Young ์˜ค๋น ย ย He’s also from our department. He gave us free chocolates! yey! ๐Ÿ˜€ I want to thank them so much for this day! ๐Ÿ˜€ I really had so much fun with them! It was a great day full of laughter and happiness.:D โค

Cherry Trees in Jeonju Zoo (์ „์ฃผ ๋™๋ฌผ์›) <3

Yesterday, Song-wook invited us to go to Jeonju Zoo. He is our classmate in Culture and Tourism class. ย Song-wook, with his friend Youngmoon, Winnie and I went to eat abundant serving of chicken at a restaurant nearby Chonbuk National University. No doubt, the food was delicious (simply because it’s a chicken!) HAHA! It was a chicken with different sauces. One was original, sweet, spicy then another with garlic.

Image

Because it was a Wednesday when we went out together, they were wearing suits that day. In Hotel Management Department here in Jeonju University, students have to wear suits during their major classes. But, we were exempted from wearing the suits or we have a choice whether to wear suits or not in class because we were exchange students. However, i like wearing the suit. My classmates really look good in their suits (no matter how much they complain being uncomfortable wearing it) Plus, they look so fashionable. If only I have a good pair, I would also wear it in class.:P

So we drove our way to the Jeonju Zoo. It was very near the restaurant we went to earlier. Along the way, there were many beautiful cherry trees. HAHA. ๐Ÿ™‚

We arrived there about 5:30 pm. There were a few people waiting in line. Song-wook bought the tickets for us.:) I’m really thankful to have such good friends like them. They were really nice to us. He also bought me a cotton candy. I felt like I was a little girl that day.:P

As we go inside, we saw this street full of cherry trees. It was just like what we see in korean dramas. ๐Ÿ˜› I felt like I was shooting a drama because I was with my korean friends (the fact that im in Korea). HAHA! ๐Ÿ˜›

Image

The cherry blossoms were very beautiful during the day, but they were more more more beautiful during the night. They opened the lights after the sun has set. The colors of the flowers changed from white, green, blue, pink, purple and red.

Image

There were a lot of people visiting the zoo at night just to see and take pictures with the cherry blossoms. I saw how much Koreans love ๋ฒš๊ฝƒ.:) I saw many couples, friends, families, and singles who were there to celebrate the season. I saw the joy in their faces. People had their cameras with them and took pictures as much as they want.

Image

These flowers were really magical. They bring happiness to a lot of people even for a short period of time. They may come and go quickly but the memories and experiences each person had with them will last for a lifetime.

Image

with my friends (Song-wook and Youngmoon)

I really had so much fun that day. It was a good thing that I was comfortable with their company. They were really funny. HAHA! ๐Ÿ™‚ And they were laughing with my simple jokes which was a good thing. We rode the viking which made me very nervous and made my heart to beat so fast!!! We were really like little kids again.

Image

They were also my official photographers last night.:P ahaha! Without them, I wouldn’t have these photos taken with the cherry trees.

We ended the night with beautiful and lasting memories. We were lost finding our way out from the zoo.:P haha! Youngmoon drove us back to our dorm. I’m really thankful to both of them for taking good care of us. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๊ณ ๋งˆ์›Œ ์นœ๊ตฌ๋“ค :))

makgeolli and chips under the cherry blossom tree :)

Today’s a good weather to bond with your friends and classmates. The winter just ended ushering spring. It’s the season wherein cherry blossoms bloom so beautifully. You can feel the warmth of the sun and the cool breeze of the wind. It’s so nice to take a break on a regular class day. Who would think that we’re going to spend the morning drinking, eating and chatting?

Today, we didn’t have class under Professor Shim. But, we had our picnic together just outside the Peace Hall. It was fun! ๐Ÿ˜€ ์žฌ๋ฏธ์žˆ์—ˆ์–ด!! just drinking, eating and chatting together. Though most of the time they speak in Korean, it’s fine with me. Because, that’s how they can easily understand each other. And I love and enjoy listening to them when they speak. I want to know how they pronounce Korean words.:P It’s a good way to learn to speak Korean.:D :)) I really really want to learn their language so much. ๐Ÿ˜€ Everyday, I’m learning new words from my friends and also I’m learning about more of their culture.:)ImageImage
